About Minnesota Alliance With Youth

Minnesota Alliance With Youth (the Alliance) is a nonprofit that brings people together in service across generations to make our state a place where all young people can thrive. They do all their work in genuine collaboration with young people, not by imposing solutions on them.

The Alliance’s AmeriCorps programs support exceptional Minnesotans in paid service to young people in schools and organizations statewide. AmeriCorps members make a difference in the lives of Minnesota young people. The Alliance offers two AmeriCorps roles: Promise Fellows and Groundwork Fellows.

  • Promise Fellows – Promise Fellows spend a year helping a small group of Minnesota students in grades 6 to 12 get the education they need to start off strong in life. As part of Youth Mental Health Corps, a national pilot program, some Promise Fellows members will help young people across Minnesota access critical mental health resources while building their own careers.
  • Groundwork Fellows – Groundwork Fellows help maintain and strengthen the network of organizations who support young people throughout Minnesota.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to deal effectively with a variety of tasks, priorities, and people in order to meet goals
  • Ability to work effectively with people of a variety of backgrounds and cultures

  • Ability to present oneself in a highly professional manner and be an ambassador of the program.
